FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Josh McDaniels spent a chilly day on the field at his first practice since becoming an offensive assistant with the New England Patriots.
They worked Tuesday on getting ready for Saturday night's divisional playoff game against the Denver Broncos, the team McDaniels coached in 2009 and for the first 12 games in 2010 before being fired. He had spent three seasons as New England's offensive coordinator before moving to Denver.
McDaniels could provide some inside information on the Broncos, but the Patriots already know plenty about them from studying video of them and having played them on Dec. 18.
The Patriots hired McDaniels last Sunday after the St. Louis Rams released him from the final year of his contract as offensive coordinator.
