DENVER – One in seven Coloradans worry about where they will find their next meal. Nearly half of them are children. That’s why JBS USA has joined forces with the Denver Broncos Champions in the Community NOURISH program to raise awareness of hunger issues right here in our Colorado community and to raise funds for the Food Bank of the Rockies, which provides food to more than 350,000 people each year. The NOURISH program is one of 12 community endeavors supported by the Denver Broncos.
“Every day, many of our fellow citizens in Colorado are uncertain as to how they will feed themselves and their families,” said Cameron Bruett, Head of Sustainability for JBS USA. “The Food Bank of the Rockies, in partnership with the Weld County Food Bank, the Larimer County Food Bank and other charitable organizations in northern Colorado, provides relief to many Coloradans struggling to find their next meal. As a corporate citizen in Colorado, leader in the U.S. food industry and avid fan of our hometown Denver Broncos, JBS USA is proud to partner with the Broncos and lend our support to the Food Bank of the Rockies. It’s just one of the many ways we are working to make our community stronger.”
Greeley-based JBS USA, a leader in high-quality beef, pork and chicken products, recently held a fundraiser at its corporate headquarters, raising $2,000 from its employees and donating more than 150 cans of food. JBS USA will also provide a $10,000 donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies at the Nov. 17 Denver Broncos game versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Denver.
