Coach, teammates back Orton as Denver's starter

Despite Denver's stumbling start, Kyle Orton remains entrenched as the Broncos' starting quarterback even as Tim Tebow fans clamor for him to get more playing time.

Coach John Fox reiterated Monday that a change at quarterback isn't the cure-all with the Broncos coming off a disheartening performance at Green Bay.

Orton's teammates are in his corner, too. Running back Willis McGahee said fans calling for Tebow need to get over it, and linebacker Joe Mays said the players are all behind Orton.

Calls from fans for Tebow have intensified with the Broncos falling to 1-3 and Orton piling up six interceptions and two fumbles to go with his eight TDs.

Tebow played one snap against the Packers, losing a yard on a run up the middle.

I'm a long time Broncos fan just like everyone else here. Yea I'm one of those dorks that want to see Tebow start! Let's get one thing clear. I don't think Tebow is better than Orton. I don't think Tebow will win more games than Orton. We may as well have someone in there that's exciting! The Broncos will suck reguardless. We have no exciting players, none! They're all just a bunch of plain Joes that suck! (thank old Josh McDaniels for that) We may as well have someone in there that's runnin' & gunnin' and fun to watch!

Orton is not the problem coaching is, we run the ball well to set up play action but call play action at the worst possible times, I.e first and goal at the 2.,,.., and to play defense against Orton is a breeze spread coverage wait for a mistake .. Easy!! He never wants to take the game into his hands, he needs to check out of defensive coverages he sees problems, but still follows through with the same play.. The whole world knows your never throwing past the first down marker so they easily jump routs... we need some creativity. I'm tired of seeing us run the ball very we'll, but once we get behind throw every down.. Orton is a clock manager so use him that way ... STOP MAKING THIS GAME CHESS WHEN ITS CHECKERS...... FIRE OC MCCOY,

You people crying for Tebow don't have a clue. John Fox said it perfectly - PLaying Tebow won't cure this teams woes. If you fair weather fans cannot understand enough about the game to understand where the short comings truly lie, then go root for another team, cuz we don't need you any way. How on earth do you morons blame Orton for the Packers racking up 49 points?? And to the idiot that said he watched Orton struggle last year, Orton was near the top of the league in passing and protected the ball very well before he was injured, in the meantime the defense was DEAD LAST! Get a clue!!!

If coached started doing what the fans wanted, the results would be disasterous. If anyone knows anything about the game, you would realize that Kyle orton is not the problem with this team. If any of you truly believe that the results would be any different with Tebow starting, you are dilusional. The best QB on the roster is starting, and that's the way it should be. Now, if any of you have a scheme designed to have your savior Tebow The Holy prevent the opposing team from scoring 49 points, then I am all ears. if not, then get a clue and realize where the real problem spots lie for this team.

I still can't figure out why everyone wants a horrible quarterback to play so bad. Orton is the best we have.

Pretty hard to beat the most probable team to win the Super Bowl this year. I've been a Bronco fan since the late 60's and seen them through the best and worst of times. I sure don't like you "fair weather fans!"

Stumbling start hell...he has been stumbling since last year... I already gave away my season tickets...

Yeah it would be even more of a sad day if The Broncos gave into a bunch of blind, hateful fans that are disgracing the team by putting in that third stringer. I'm sick of whiny Bronco "fans" like you and your useless, hateful attitude embarrassing the rest of us true fans.

Let them keep Orton in. Fox knows what hes doing. If you all think that you can coach better then why are you not doing that. Tebow will be a great QB but not right now. Yes he trys to make things happen but hes not ready to do it. Orton threw sone interceptions, so did alot of QBs so what the problem. Let them build the broncos as it should be. Were banged up and alot of players we need are hurt buy it wil get better. So give it a chance, if the broncos went without a loss for the rest of the season you all would be saying that Orton and Fox are the great.
