Coach, teammates back Orton as Denver's starter

Posted: Mon 10:11 PM, Oct 03, 2011

Despite Denver's stumbling start, Kyle Orton remains entrenched as the Broncos' starting quarterback even as Tim Tebow fans clamor for him to get more playing time.

Coach John Fox reiterated Monday that a change at quarterback isn't the cure-all with the Broncos coming off a disheartening performance at Green Bay.

Orton's teammates are in his corner, too. Running back Willis McGahee said fans calling for Tebow need to get over it, and linebacker Joe Mays said the players are all behind Orton.

Calls from fans for Tebow have intensified with the Broncos falling to 1-3 and Orton piling up six interceptions and two fumbles to go with his eight TDs.

Tebow played one snap against the Packers, losing a yard on a run up the middle.
