ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos signed wide receiver Tavarres King to their active roster and waived linebacker Adrian Robinson, it was announced.
King (6-1, 191 pounds) is a rookie from the University of Georgia who was selected by the Broncos in the fifth round (161st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent the first six weeks of the year on Denver’s practice squad after catching five passes for 64 yards (12.8 avg.) for the Broncos during the preseason.
He played in a school-record 56 career games at Georgia and finished his tenure with the Bulldogs ranked third all-time in receiving touchdowns (21) and fourth in receiving yards (2,602).
A native of Mt. Airy, Ga., King was born on July 14, 1990.
Robinson saw action in all six games for the Broncos this season after being acquired via waivers from Philadelphia on Sept. 1. He contributed one solo tackle on defense along with two special-teams stops.
