ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed free-agent tight end Deangelo Peterson, it was announced.
Peterson (6-3, 243 pounds) is a first-year player from Louisiana State University who spent last season on Washington’s practice squad after signing with St. Louis as a college free agent.
He played 50 collegiate games (10 starts) for the Tigers and finished his career with 39 receptions for 459 yards (11.8 avg.) with three touchdowns.
A two-sport athlete (football, basketball) at Desire Street Academy in Baton Rouge, La., Peterson was born on Jan. 11, 1989.
Peterson will wear jersey No. 86.
