ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed defensive lineman Brian Sanford, the team announced.
Sanford (6-2, 280 pounds) is a fifth-year player who appeared in 12 regular-season games (1 start) with Cleveland (2011-12) and Oakland (2013), totaling 13 tackles (7 solo).
He signed with the Browns as a college free agent in 2010 and spent time on the club’s practice squad and active roster during his first three NFL seasons. Sanford was acquired by Oakland via waivers on Sept. 1, 2013, and went on to play five games (1 start) for the Raiders last season.
Sanford saw action in 43 career games at Temple University and posted 86 tackles, eight sacks and three forced fumbles. He attended Hartford (Conn.) Public High School and was born on Sept. 12, 1987.
