ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Tuesday placed center J.D. Walton on reserve/PUP and safety Quinton Carter on injured reserve, it was announced.
The two transactions bring Denver’s active roster to the league-mandated 75-player limit.
Under the NFL’s PUP rules, Walton cannot participate in practices during the first six weeks of the regular season. Beginning on Oct. 15, he is eligible to practice for up to a 21-day period between then and Nov. 19. At any point during that practice window, he can return to the active roster.
