LaMont Jordan is well aware he's part of a crowded backfield competition that will only get tougher once the team signs top draft pick Knowshon Moreno.
So he's trying to make the most of his work opportunities in practice even if it means taking some punishment.
Jordan said yesterday his body felt horrible -- but, better than it did previously.
And Jordan says he doesn't mind the extra work amid all the competition because it gives him the chance to reinforce what he said was an important notion in the coaches' minds: "Hey, I belong here."
Jordan is in a battle for playing time with fellow free agent Correll Buckhalter and holdovers Peyton Hillis and Ryan Torain, in addition to Moreno
He said he doesn't have much time to dwell on Moreno's status and how his eventual appearance will affect the competition.
