Brian Xanders says in his first public comments since being promoted to general manager of the Denver Broncos that he's found a kindred spirit in new coach Josh McDaniels.
Xanders pledged Monday a unified front office, saying both he and McDaniels will report directly to owner Pat Bowlen. Bowlen has handed his team over to a couple of "rookie" thirty-somethings after firing Mike Shanahan on Dec. 30.
The 37-year-old Xanders joined the Broncos as assistant general manager last spring after spending the previous 14 with the Atlanta Falcons.
