The Denver Broncos have a share of the AFC West lead after using several huge plays to beat Tennessee 34-20.

Glenn Martinez returned a punt 80 yards to put the Broncos ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. Andre Hall secured the victory with a 62-yard run for a touchdown, completing the scoring after the Broncos saw a 17-point lead slip to seven.

Jay Cutler got the Broncos going with a 48-yard scoring pass to Brandon Stokley in the first quarter. Cutler also hit Brandon Marshall for a 41-yard TD that put the Broncos ahead 27-10 in the third quarter.

Vince Young threw for a career-high 308 yards and scored on a four-yard run that got the Titans with 27-17 in the third quarter. But Young also was intercepted on each of Tennessee's last two possessions.

The 5-and-5 Broncos share the AFC West lead with San Diego. The Titans are 6-and-4 following their second straight loss.

Oh yeah! All is well. The ship has been righted. These are the Broncos we expected in August. Make those reservations for Glendale, Ariz., site of the Super Bowl. Just kidding, folks. There are many who actually believe that right now. There’s a blind faith in all things Broncos. Sometimes we need proof. Sure, the Broncos are tied for first in the AFC West with the San Diego Chargers. They’re back in the playoff hunt. Don’t mean to burst any bubbles, but the Broncos are still 5-5. And 5-5 is mediocre. A 5-5 record doesn’t even get one invited to the table of good teams.

I wouldn't be bragging too much with a 5-5 record. Being in first place with that record shows just how sorry that division is.
