Sky Sox withstand Nashville, 8-3

Brandon Woodruff threw six scoreless innings and the offense responded to multiple Nashville rallies as the Colorado Springs Sky Sox defeated the Sounds, 8-3, in front of 1,670 Monday night.


Kyle Freeland scattered six hits over seven sharp innings, Gerardo Parra hit a two-run homer and the Colorado Rockies beat San Francisco 8-0 on Sunday for their first three-game sweep of the Giants at Coors Field since 2002.


Freshman Thomas Staines (Colorado Springs, Colo.) guided the Colorado State University-Pueblo track and field programs at the Colorado School of Mines Nature's Bakery Invitational at the Stermole Track in Golden, Colorado Saturday.


Air Force baseball (19-20, 8-13 MW) defeated San José State (13-24-1, 7-12-1), 9-5, in a Mountain West game Sunday afternoon at Municipal Stadium. The Falcons earned their first-ever road series sweep in the Mountain West era and its first conference road sweep since 1995.


The Air Force golf team posted its best conference finish since 2014 as the Falcons placed seventh at the Mountain West Championships, Sunday, April 23, at the Omni National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The finish tied as the fourth-best finish in school history.
