The Fountain Police Department and Fountain-Ft. Carson School District conducted a training exercise Thursday at the Fountain-Ft. Carson High School.

There was a lot of police activity in the area all morning, with students participating in training scenarios such as active shooter, hostage negotiation, barricaded suspects, etc.

The exercise also used role players, school staff, patrol units, SWAT, dispatch, and fire/medical rescue personnel.

The purpose of the exercise was to provide officers and school staff with practical training and to evaluate everyone's actions.
