With thousands evacuating as the wildfires rage on in different parts of the state, homes are being left unoccupied for days.
Experts offer some of the follow tips on what do before you leave your home:
• Secure your home by closing and locking doors and windows.
• Unplug electrical equipment such as radios, televisions and small appliances.
• Shut off water, gas and electricity before leaving.
