11 News is bringing you the most up-to-date information about the location of the Waldo Canyon fire.
Click on our slideshow to see the latest fire maps, released from officials Thursday ahead of the press conference.
We also have the latest thermal imagery map available on geomac.gov. It gives an option of viewing the fire through a topography map, a street view, or a satellite view. Click here to view it. Here are directions on how to use it:
-When on the home page, go to GeoMAC Viewer at the top, and it will open a separate page.
-On the separate page, go to the drawdown "Jump to Wildfire" on the top right side of the page. Click on Waldo Canyon CO.
-That will take you to a map of Waldo Canyon from 7/04. On the left side, you will see "Active Fires." Click to bring up three options.
-Click on MODIS Thermal Satellite. This image is up-to-date as of 7/05. It shows thermal imagery from Thursday.
-If you want to view topography, see a street view, etc, click on "Base Data." It will give you several options.
The red circles on the map show the newest, most active fires. Yellow burned in the last 12 hours. Black are areas that burned in the last 24.
Each circle on the thermal satellite imagery does not necessarily mean the entire area within the circle is on fire.
