The American Red Cross has set up several shelters for three separate wildfires in southeast Colorado. Those are set up at the following locations:
Black Forest Fire, Colorado Springs area
The Red Cross is opening shelters at:
• Palmer Lake High School, 19255 Monument Rd., Monument
• New Life Church, 11035 Voyager Pkwy., Colorado Springs
Royal Gorge Fire, Cañon City area
• Red Cross volunteers are staffing an evacuation center at the Evangelical Free Church, 3000 E. Main St., Cañon City.
Middle Creek Fire near LaVeta
• The Red Cross is operating a shelter at the Huerfano County Community Center, 928 Russell Ave., Walsenburg
Meanwhile, local Red Cross volunteers in Denver are helping four families after a multi-unit apartment fire at 1731 Pagosa Way in Aurora displaced an estimated 20 people. The Red Cross is providing shelter and food for the four families who needed assistance, and will continue to follow up to meet additional needs.
