Next week, the El Paso County Disaster Recovery Center will shut its doors and transition to providing service by phone or online.
The center was established two weeks ago for residents impacted by the Waldo Canyon Fire. The location at 105 North Spruce Street has served more than 2,000 people.
On Monday, the information and referral services will be moved to the Citizens Service Center at 1675 Garden of the Gods Road. Employees will answer calls at (719) 444-8300 and updated information will be provided online at www.elpasoco.com/Pages/DRC.aspx.
“We’re still here to help,” Deputy County Administrator Monnie Gore said. “The phone bank will be up and running on Monday. We’ll have all the service providers’ information and be able to direct residents to their local offices for assistance.”
