Scorching temperatures and dry conditions have led to the governor issuing a firework ban for the entire state.
If you are caught using them, it's going to cost you: violators could not only face fines upward of $1,000, but could be liable for the damages caused from the fireworks.
Some counties are still allowing people to buy fireworks, but are prohibiting use. In El Paso County, even purchasing fireworks is banned. The city of Pueblo has established a similar ban.
Law enforcement encourage anyone that sees illegal use of firework to report it, in order to help prevent more wildfires.
