A fire burning near Lamar, Colo. along the Arkansas River is 100 percent contained.
The fire broke out Friday night. It burned across 150 acres before crews from Lamar and Prowers County were able to contain it. No structures were ever threatened. Eyewitness accounts say the fire started by lightning strike.
The Prowers County Sheriff's Office confirms that the fire remains contained despite firefighters returning to the scene Saturday morning. Firefighters responded to smoke reports in the area Saturday, but say they "didn't find much." The Sheriff's Office says that firefighters are simply hosing down a couple of hotspots.
