A $20,000 donation from the El Pomar Foundation to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will fund the purchase of utility terrain vehicles for the El Paso County Wildfire Suppression Section.
The vehicles will help wildfire crews gain access to supplies and support in the event of a fire in El Paso County.
“I am so thankful for the long standing partnership we have enjoyed with the El Pomar Foundation,” Sheriff Terry Maketa said. “They have supported our wild land fire efforts for many years and their generosity could not have come at a better time as the threat of wild land fire grows with each day.”
