A tragic discovery was made in a popular Denver-area reservoir Wednesday morning.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the body of a man was found in the Chatfield Reservoir.
The Douglas County Coroner has identified the deceased as Jason Gustav Stark, 37. Stark was reported missing Saturday during a camping trip with friends. He was found by Loop C at the campground near the reservoir.
The cause of death has been determined to be asphyxiation due to fresh water drowning. The coroner has ruled the death an accident.
Sister station KCNC reports that Stark was an evacuee of the Waldo Canyon fire. The Sheriff's Office says this was just a tragic coincidence.
