The USPS has issued the following update about mail delivery impacted by the Black Forest Fire:

The lifting of most evacuation areas associated with the Black Forest fire will allow mail service to resume service to many areas today, Tuesday, June 18. Carriers will be delivering any accumulated mail, so there is no need to come to the Post Office. If your access road is open, then we will attempt to deliver your mail, including all accumulated mail

About 1600 addresses for ZIP 80908 will not see mail delivery today because of road closures. This mail is being held at Briargate Station, 8585 Criterion Dr, and can be picked up at the side door in the lobby from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The phone number to the station is (719) 265-4409..

CONTINUING: The Postal Unit in the Black Forest is open for mail business and delivery. Monument 80132, Peyton 80831, Colorado Springs 80921 (Gleneagle) addresses will be delivered today. The Elbert Post Office, 80106, which had relocated operations to Kiowa has returned to their building. All routes will be delivering with the possibility of about 20 addresses not deliverable.

IS YOUR HOME IMPACTED? We can forward your mail to a temporary location. Ask for a change of address at any Post Office or file a change online at usps.com

Future delivery decisions will be made after consulting with local emergency managers.
