Today all areas of Black Forest were released from pre-evacuation status.
According to a press release from El Paso County, efforts and progress of firefighters to locate and control hot spots within the interior of the Black Forest Fire, Sheriff Terry Maketa has released all areas of Black Forest from pre-evacuation status.
Although the evacuation status has been removed, residents in Black Forest are asked to remain vigilant in fire prevention and reporting.
Officials announced on Thursday, June 20 that the fire was 100 percent contained, nine days after the Black Forest Fire first broke out.
