No, you don't have to worry about catching the flu right now. But there's one thing you have to watch out for and it's something that really makes summer-time... summer-time! We’re talking about the sun!
So if you wind up with a sunburn, here's what you need to know. We’ve got three tips offered by Mayo Clinic doctors.
First, keep the burn cool, whether that's with a cool compress or a cool bath. Next, keep the sunburn moist with aloe or some other kind of lotion. You also want to take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory, which is perfect for a sunburn.
In rare cases, you may need to see the doctor because of your sunburn. Here's what to look for: First, if the burn covers a large part of your body with blisters. Another thing to look for is a high fever. And if the sunburn doesn't improve after a few days, it’s time to seek help.
These are just a few things to keep in mind, because the sun isn't going anywhere. And we know you want to get out and enjoy it. Just do it safely.
