We are right in the middle of flu season. And so far this year, According to the CDC, our flu season in Colorado has been normal.
But local health care providers have told us the flu season can last until May. That would mean we still have a few months to go.
So you want to know what the symptoms look like in case this virus starts making its way around your family.
When you have the flu, you'll notice those same symptoms as you do with a cold, like a runny nose and congestion. But you'll also have a fever, headache, body aches, chills and fatigue. This is according to www.flu.gov.
Sometimes influenza can cause serious complications. But most healthy people recover without any trouble.
Since the flu is a virus, anti-biotics won’t work. So make sure you talk to your doctor about how to best treat your symptoms.
And to keep yourself healthy, wash your hands frequently and most importantly... get your flu shot. This year’s flu shot includes two strains of the flu, as well as protection against H1N1.
