Everyone is back in school and getting back to normal. But sick days may be in sight. Dr. Tom Bartlett with Mountain View Medical Center reports he's seeing a lot of asthmatic bronchitis. He's in the central part of the Springs.
Here's a look at the symptoms. He says it starts like a cold with typical things like a runny nose and congestion. But it can also lead to shortness of breath and a pretty productive cough. These symptoms can last up to two weeks.
So it's a good idea to talk to your doctor, especially if you have chronic lung disease or asthma. Dr. Bartlett says sometimes you may need antibiotics. But again, talk to your doctor about what's best for you.
And remember, you don't have to have asthma to have asthmatic bronchitis. So keep an eye out for these symptoms.
