We’re seeing more hospitalized diagnosed cases of the flu in El Paso County than any other county in the state. That's according to the CDC. And that has been the case since October.

As you know, the influenza virus is very contagious and if you don't recognize the symptoms, you could be spreading it to the people around you.

So here are the symptoms to be aware of, according to WebMD. The main symptom is a fever, followed by body aches, a headache, overall weakness, a sore throat and a runny nose.

If you experience these symptoms, talk to your doctor right away. And it's not just because you're contagious. The sooner you recognize the symptoms and get some antiviral medication into your system, the sooner you'll be feeling like yourself again.
