We all want to get out and enjoy those final days of summer before it’s time to get back to school.
But when the sun is shining high, here’s what you need to know to stay safe from issues like heat stroke. This is especially important for the older folks in our lives, along with the youngest members of our families.
Watch for these symptoms:
1. a very high body temperature
2. 103 degrees or higher
3. dry, hot, red skin
4. a rapid pulse
6. confusion… or even unconsciousness.
And here’s what you need to do:
You want to get to a cool environment, hydrate as much as possible, drink a liter of fluid an hour and exercise early or late in the day when temperatures are cooler.
These are all really important things to keep in mind, until the temperatures cool off.
