Things have not been fun for the families passing this virus around. It looks like a cold or flu and it can really slow you down.
We're hearing about this in the Briargate area from Dr. Joyce Michael with Mountain View Medical Group.
She says the virus causes aches and fever the first day. That's followed by nasal drainage, sore throat, hoarseness and productive cough. She says the symptoms are severe enough for bed rest. But it's also important to get lots of fluids.
For kids, Dr. Michael says they may need to see a doctor if the fever and sore throat persists. Talking with your doctor may be the best advice, because this virus can stick around for up to two weeks.
