It is cold and flu season. So there's definitely a bit of that going around right now. But we learned about another issue. It’s not contagious, but it’s still a problem.
Here’s what we’re learning from the doctors with EmergiCare in Colorado Springs.
They're seeing an increase in the number of cases of urinary tract infections, also known as UTIs. They’re seeing it in adults and kids. Here are the symptoms: pain or burning with urination, always feeling like you have to go, discolored urine, pain in your sides, fever and nausea/vomiting.
If you have any of these symptoms, see your doctor. UTIs are treated with antibiotics and hydration. But these infections can get serious quickly, so you want to make sure you’re treated as soon as possible.
The symptoms with UTIs can last for up to two weeks.
