This summer has been pretty active when it comes to bugs and such going around. Last week, the problem seemed pretty seasonal. We were dealing with allergies.
This week, that is not the case. According to Dr. Tom Bartlett, viral gastroenteritis is what's going around.
Dr. Bartlett is with Mountain View Medical Group in the central part of town.
Here's a look at the symptoms: nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, a low-grade fever and cramping.
He also says occasionally, he's seen this progress to mild diarrhea.
So here's what you need to know: Dr. Bartlett says this virus lasts 48-72 hours. He says you can help your symptoms by taking imodium or something for your stomach and tylenol to help with the fever.
Fon't forget, as always, wash your hands to keep this virus from spreading.
