We see RSV pop up every winter. This year, it seemed to hit extra hard and that is evident since it won’t go away.
That’s according to Dr. Steven Reich with Colorado Springs Health Partners. He's on the southwest side of town. Here's a look at the symptoms once again.
It starts out very much like a cold. You'll notice a fever, coughing, a runny nose, a sore throat and an earache in your child. Your child could also have trouble breathing. So keep a close eye on your child because, if severe enough, these symptoms could result in hospitalization.
Also going around this week... an illness in adults that’s never fun especially not during spring break.
Dr. Doug clark with Mountain View Medical Group on the east side of Colorado Springs says a diarrheal illness is going around.
Here's a look at the symptoms: the sudden onset of abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, occasional vomiting, fatigue and loss of appetite. He says it lasts 2 or 3 days.
So here's what Dr. Clark says you can do to treat the symptoms: lots of rest, clear fluids, imodium ad and avoid milk and dairy.
Also, an important reminder if you are on spring break. Make sure you use sunscreen. That goes for beach vacations or ski vacations. You don't want to get a sunburn, so use that sunscreen and use lots of it.
