The swine flu seems to be making all the headlines. But there's a different virus affecting folks in the central part of Colorado Springs. This one is a gastrointestinal illness combined with cold symptoms.
That's according to Dr. Tom Bartlett with Mountain View Medical Group. Here's what he's seeing:
cold symptoms like nasal congestion and fever. Then you'll also notice nausea, sometimes vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping.
Dr. Bartlett says this illness will go away without much treatment. He recommends fluids, rest and Tylenol. This virus should clear up in about 2-4 days.
