What's Going Around - March 10, 2009

Four out of the last five weeks, local doctors have told us influenza is What’s Going Around their offices. So you might say we’re in the thick of flu season.

Dr. Joyce Michael is with Mountain View Medical Group. In the Briargate area, she’s seeing symptoms like high fever, aching, dry cough, sore throat and clear runny nose.

She says it lasts six to seven days without treatment from your doctor.

Dr. Michael also says it’s not too late to get your flu shot. She says the flu season lasts through May. So there’s still time to prevent it.
