If you and the kids have been battling a sore throat, it could be the start of What’s Going Around… strep throat.

That’s according to Dr. Caroline Rowlands. She’s with Colorado Springs Health Partners in the southwest part of the Springs.

She tells us strep throat starts with a sore throat, especially when swallowing.

There’s also sometimes a fever or rash. You might also experience a headache or nausea. But usually there is no coughing and no runny nose.

Dr. Rowlands says antibiotics are needed. And that will help with the symptoms within about 24-hours.
