Dr. Tom Bartlett is on the North end of Colorado Springs with Mountain View Medical Group. He has seen a lot of viral pharyngitis in his office.
The virus starts with a sore throat and a low-grade fever. You’ll also notice nasal congestion and a cough.
But here’s the tough part. Because this is viral, antibiotics won’t help.
So, here’s what you can do. Use a decongestant and/or pain relievers. Gargling with salt water also helps.
Dr. Bartlett says symptoms can last up to two weeks.
