There’s a major respiratory condition to report this week. On the North Side of Colorado Springs, Dr. Thomas Bartlett with Mountain View Medical Group says adults are suffering from a resurgence of asthmatic bronchitis.

It’s bronchitis… that’s asthmatic in nature. But here’s the catch, it can happen even if you have no history of asthma.

It starts with a Viral Upper Respiratory infection. That includes symptoms like nasal chest congestion, cough, fever, ear and throat pain and shortness of breath or wheezing.

Treatment includes oral steroids, antibiotics and cough suppressants. Dr. Bartlett says asthmatic bronchitis can last up to seven days.
