On the East Side of the Springs, Dr. Alan Garscadden with Colorado Springs Health Partners reports the first cases so far this year of actual strep.
You’ll notice pain in the throat, especially when swallowing. It’s also characterized by fever and white spots in the back of the throat. Strep throat is contagious. So antibiotics will help keep you from passing the disease to someone else.
Meanwhile, Dr. Doug Clark with Mountain View Medical Group is seeing two things around his office… that nasty upper respiratory illness that’s been going around… and also, a stomach bug.
The upper respiratory illness has a lingering cough for three weeks. There is little fever, but persistent fatigue and dry cough.
The stomach bug he’s seeing starts with abrupt nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It also shows with a low grade fever and maybe a little abdominal pain.
