EAST COLORADO SPRINGS - Strep Throat
Dr. Brad Tewes with Colorado Springs Health Partners says, for the past 2 to 3 weeks, he's seen a surprisingly high number of strep throat cases.
Tests for both adults and children are coming back positive.
It's rare for this time of year.
Symptoms include, red and white patches in your throat along with tender glands and difficulty swallowing.
Fever and body aches are also pretty common.
Patients will likely be given an antibiotic to fight off further complications.
Remember, if you feel like you have a sore throat, see your doctor so you can be tested to confirm the illness.
Strep is contagious.
