Fall and winter... cold and flu. They seem to go hand in hand.
But when it comes to the flu, you don't have to suffer. Prevention is key.
As our doctors always say - that means, first and foremost, getting a flu shot. They're available at doctor's offices and pharmacies all over southern colorado. And don't think that the flu shot is going to give you the flu. Doctors say -- it's made from an inactive virus. It's still the best way to protect yourself and protect your family.
The other big prevention tool is washing your hands. Wash with soap and hot water and do it regularly.
Doctors we talked with recommend washing for at least 15 seconds. Or you can use a product like Purell.
