A second flu shot is now due for some children, if this is the first season they’ve had the vaccination.

The health department says children between six months and 8 years old in that category should get two doses at least four weeks apart. Little ones who need the second shot, but don’t get it, are vulnerable to contracting the flu. They are also more vulnerable to complications from the flu.

Four hundred and twenty-five people have been hospitalized for the flu in Colorado this season. Seven people have died, including two children.
