An eighth grade student is accused of making a threat against classmates at Fountain Middle School Wednesday.
Fountain-Fort Carson District officials tell KKTV 11 News that the student sent a text message that threatened other students. The official would not elaborate on what the threats were.
Fountain police responded to the school to investigate the threat. The student accused of making the threat will not be in school Thursday. The district did notify the parents of all the students involved.
The district says there is no concern for student safety and classes will go on as scheduled.
A full statement by the district, sent out Thursday, is below:
Wednesday afternoon, February 12, a threat was made by a Fountain Middle School student via text toward several students at Fountain Middle School. The Fountain Police Department was notified as well as all of the parents of the threatened students. In addition, a reverse dialer went out last night to all parents of Fountain Middle School students notifying them of the situation and that it was being addressed. Parents and students can feel comfortable reporting to school today as the situation is under control.
