A former high school teacher who was accused of sex assault on a student has been acquitted by a jury, according to the Gazette.

UPDATE: A former high school teacher who was accused of sex assault on a student has been acquitted by a jury, according to the Gazette.

Mark Moore was arrested in February 2014 after a school therapist told police about an alleged inappropriate relationship between Moore and a student at Cheyenne Mountain High School.

According to the arrest affidavit, Moore was accused of exchanging sexually explicit text messages with the student.

He was charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. He was acquitted of those charges.

Police have arrested a high school teacher on allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Mark Moore, 31, was arrested Friday.

According to Springs police, the CSPD Crimes Against Children Unit received a call Friday from the school resource officer at Cheyenne Mountain High School about the alleged relationship. Moore is a math teacher at the school.

Detectives began investigating, and say they soon found probable cause to arrest Moore.

Moore has been charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust. Jail records indicate that he has bonded out.
