An area elementary school will have extra security for the remainder of the school year following threats to three teachers last week.
That extra security will come in the form of more supervision before and after school at Weikel Elementary, which is on Fort Carson.
Military police will also supervise school grounds on the weekends.
"This is a precautionary measure to ensure everyone's safety," the Mountain Post said in a statement last Thursday. "Parents will be kept informed."
Fort Carson has not released any details about the nature of the threats or who might have made them.
