The Walmart on Pueblo's south side is back open after a bomb scare Wednesday evening.
Police spotted a suspicious car parked between the two main entrance doors in the fire zone--with the passenger door wide open. Several items inside the Subaru aroused further suspicion: batteries, wires and a backpack.
Worried that it could be an explosive device, the store was evacuated and the bomb squad was called out. A robot was deployed to the vehicle, which determined there was nothing dangerous or hazardous inside.
The Subaru's owner lives in La Veta and says he had loaned the vehicle to a friend. Police were never able to locate the friend, but say they did eventually get in touch over the phone.
