Vendor Offers Big Reward For Stolen Fireworks

Over $50,000 in fireworks was stolen from a local vendor and now he’s offering a big reward for anyone who can help find the suspects.

John Musso has been selling fireworks for 60 years, but Thursday at his Big Top Fireworks location on Santa Fe Drive in Pueblo, he made a devastating discovery.

“We found all the trailer doors open and fireworks scattered all over the ground,” Musso explained.

He says overnight suspects used electric lock-cutters to break into the trailers that were packed with thousands of fireworks.

“Fireworks are not insurable, so now we have to pay for a product that we don’t have,” Musso said.

Musso tells 11 News it may be an inside job from a past employee.

“They knew exactly what trailers were loaded up and which ones to go to.”

Musso is also dealing with the recent statewide fireworks ban that automatically cuts sales.

“With the fire bans and loss of product it’s just real devastating right now,” he said.

The Pueblo County Sheriffs Office is investigating this crime. They were on scene lifting fingerprints from the trailers. Musso is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with information. If you have information on this crime call 542-STOP.
