An abandoned cooler left outside a Pueblo government building caused a brief scare Monday morning.
Pueblo County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Laurie Kilpatrick tells 11 News that the cooler was spotted outside the Department of Social Services building late Monday morning, prompting evacuations of the nearby Pueblo County Probation and Fleet Management offices while authorities investigated.
DSS was never evacuated, but Kilpatrick said employees were moved from the south side of the building to the north as a precaution.
All evacuations have been lifted now that the cooler has been deemed safe.
Kilpatrick urges the public to not ever leave unattended items in front of public buildings, as it can look suspicious and result in unnecessary panic.
