Two suspects were arrested after forcing themselves into a home and barricading themselves inside. That is according to Pueblo police.

Police said it started with a shots fired call on the 1100 block of Egan in southern Pueblo. The call came in about 1:00 a.m. Sunday.

Police said they spotted a vehicle in that area matching the description given by witnesses. The driver reportedly would not stop, and was chased by police through town.

Police said the suspects abandoned the damaged vehicle on the 1800 block of East 6th Street on the east side of Pueblo and ran away.

Police said the suspects then entered a nearby home and barricaded themselves inside.

The homeowner was inside initially, but got out of the house safely.

The suspects reportedly refused to surrender, so police said they called in SWAT. Further negotiations were also unsuccessful, so SWAT used gas to get the two suspects out of the home.

Police said no one was hurt.

Two people were arrested.

Police said 23 year-old Nicholas Montoya was driving the vehicle. He reportedly had a municipal warrant for his arrest.. He was booked into county jail for eluding, reckless, driving and burglary. Police said he was also charged with violating a restraining order against a female passenger in the vehicle.

21 year-old Shannace Lowe was also booked into county jail for burglary.

Police said they are still investigating the initial shots fired call.
