Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

A man suspected in a Pueblo homicide has been arrested in Fort Collins.

Suspect Description:

- White

- 6'1" tall

- 180 lbs.

- Brown hair

A man at the center of a homicide investigation in Pueblo has been arrested in Fort Collins.

Pueblo police say 36-year-old David Vernon Dennis was arrested around 3 a.m. August 29. Police have not said when he will be extradited to Pueblo.

Dennis was wanted for first-degree murder after a man's body was found in a hotel room at the Clarion Hotel on the 4000 block of North Elizabeth Street in Pueblo at about 8:20 a.m. August 22.

Police say autopsy results show the victim was strangled.

The Crimes Against Persons Unit was called in after the body was discovered because of suspicious circumstances at the scene. After receiving the autopsy results, the death was ruled a homicide.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pueblo Police Department at 719-553-2502.
