A man is in custody, charged with stealing tools, equipment and a vehicle worth a total of over $57,000.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Craig Van Buskirk, 44, was arrested in Adams County. He is charged in connection with burglarizing two neighboring businesses on August 11.
The initial report came on August 11, from Serendipity Wood on the 100 block of Assembly Dr. in Pueblo West. That business reported it was missing $27,000 worth of tools and equipment.
As deputies investigated, they found that Hang ‘Em High Drywall was also a victim. That business was missing over $30,000 worth of tools and equipment. Additionally, a 1997 Dodge truck was missing.
Evidence linking Van Buskirk to the crimes was found in Pueblo County and the Sheriff’s Office got a warrant for his arrest. Detectives from the Adam’s County Sheriff’s Office found and arrested him on August 12, when they responded to an unrelated report of a stolen vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office says most of the stolen items were pawned, but they believe everything has been recovered.
