A string of grass fires in Pueblo could be the work of an arsonist.

Five of the fires began Monday afternoon along the side of the Pueblo Boulevard, near Spaulding Avenue. Just a few minutes later, three more fires started on Highway 50 near Pueblo West. All of the fires were small, and firefighters were able to quickly put the fires out before they spread.

Authorities are now trying to figure out how they started to begin with. At this time, it's unclear if they were set intentionally, or if they were just an accident.

If you have any information that would help investigators, call Pueblo Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP.
